Field Hockey Drops Homecoming Tilt to Concordia

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team dropped a 6-0 decision to the visiting Concordia University Falcons on Homecoming Saturday at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex.

After a scoreless first quarter for both sides, the Falcons would post two tallies in each of the next three periods. Five different Falcons found the back of the cage, headlined by Rachel Larson who finished with two goals in the win.

Oberlin rookie Mary Post did her best to fend off the barrage, finishing with a career-high 12 saves in three quarters of work, while backup Vanessa Baker added six more stops in the fourth quarter.

Elizabeth Modahl and Lea Watkins-Chow also had defensive saves for the Yeowomen.

Reet Goraya, Libby Royer, and Hayley Segall accounted for the three Oberlin shots that were on target.

The Falcons put 26 of their 29 shots on goal and triggered nine penalty corners compared to Oberlin's one.

The result of the match left both sides at 3-6 on the year.

Oberlin is back in action next Saturday at DePauw University.
