Greencastle, Indiana – The Oberlin College field hockey team lost a tight game at DePauw University on Saturday by a 2-0 margin.
The Yeowomen had an early opportunity in the first 90 seconds as a
Bonnie Wileman shot had to be saved by a Tiger's defenseman.
DePauw got on the board late in the opening period with a goal at the 13:49 mark to take a 1-0 lead that held until halftime.
The Tigers scored their second goal of the contest in the third period off a penalty corner to put Oberlin behind 2-0.
The Yeowomen tried to cut the deficit in half late in this one but a
Meredith Warden attempt was saved by the Tigers goalkeeper with less than five minutes remaining in the match to protect the DePauw shutout and 2-0 victory.
Vanessa Baker made nine saves in net for Oberlin.
The Yeowomen have a quick turnaround as they stay in Indiana to take on Earlham College on Sunday, October 13
th at 1:00 p.m.
