Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team fell to the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents by a score of 8-0 inside Cameron Stadium.
The Yeowomen were led by junior goalkeeper
Kennedy Kline, who leads the conference in saves, stood up to the high-powered Presidents offense as she made 11 saves on the 19 shots on goal. Kline has been strong for the Yeowomen all year and has a career-high 82 saves in her first season as the full-time starter.
The Oberlin offense, which has struggled in recent weeks, could not keep up with Washington & Jefferson. The Yeowomen were held shot less and struggled to get the ball in the offensive zone.
The Presidents scored three goals in the first half and netted five in the second half to blow the game open.
Oberlin falls to 1-7 on the year and Washington & Jefferson improves to 3-3.
The Yeowomen return to North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday when they host the Depauw University Tigers inside the Knowlton Athletics Complex at 12 p.m. Fan's can follow along at goyeo.com/stream
