Granville, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team fell in a North Coast Athletic Conference game against Denison University by a score of 4-0 at Piper Stadium.
Junior goalkeeper Kennedy Kline led the Yeowomen in the losing effort as she made a career-high 27 saves. Kline held her ground as she faced a 45 shots and was under duress throughout the game as the offensive struggles continued for Oberlin. Her teammates aided the cause with five defensive saves in the setback. Senior Dillon Sebastian had two, while Julie Schreiber, Emma Broun and Meg Parker each had one.
After surrendering goals in the 14th and 15th minutes, the Yeowomen defense buckled down for the remainder of the first half and went into the intermission trailing 2-0 despite getting very few opportunities offensively.
In the second half, Kline continued to make her presence felt in cage as she tallied 15 saves. The Big Red would break through and score their final goals in the 39th and 47th minutes.
The Yeowomen continue NCAC play on Sunday when they travel to Springfield to face the Wittenberg University Tigers at 1 p.m.
