Yeomen Tame the Terriers

Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's lacrosse team scored early and often as they handed the visiting Terriers of Hiram College a, 29-1, defeat on Tuesday evening at the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex.
 
A total of 11 different Yeomen scored in the game, led by senior Eric Hager who finished with a career-high eight goals to run his team-leading total to 31. The Montclair, New Jersey, native added four assists to finish with 12 points.
 
Sophomore Jay Messina had the Oberlin offense in rhythm as he dished out a career-high seven assists to go along with four goals for a career-best 11-point performance.
 
Senior Jack Fabrizio sent in a career-high five goals, while junior Reese Koburov matched a season-high with four scores.
 
Rookie Erik Zeug contributed two goals and an assist, while Ian McCague, John Pierce, Elie Small, Steve Kelleher, and Regan Chasney each posted a single tally for the Yeomen.
 
Oberlin scored nine goals in each of the first three quarters en route to earning its highest scoring total of the season. The win moved the Yeomen to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in the NCAC.
 
It was 9-1 after one period and 18-1 at the half as the game was well in hand shortly after the opening whistle. Calvin Filson nearly finished with his first-career shutout, but instead had to settle for six saves to run his season total 140.
 
At the face-off X, senior captain Kinori Rosnow won 19-of-24 draws to run his season success rate to .671 percent. He also corralled 20 ground balls and scored a goal in the win. Mark Addonizio also went 6-of-9 at the spot as Oberlin finished 25-of-33 as a team.
 
Oberlin fired off 74 shots compared to Hiram's 11. The Yeomen won the ground ball 52-20 and were successful on 19-of-20 clear attempts.
 
The Yeomen will conclude their season on Saturday afternoon and honor their senior members prior to the contest with DePauw. The celebration will start at approximately 12:45 p.m. with the opening face-off to follow at 1 p.m.
