Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's field hockey team fell to Ohio Wesleyan University in its home finale by a score of 4-1 inside Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex.
With the loss, the Yeowomen fall to 1-18 overall on the year and 0-13 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. The Battling Bishops improved to 6-12 on the year and 2-11 against conference opponents.
In the first half, the Battling Bishops outshot the Yeowomen 10-1 and would take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
Luisa McGarvey took the lone Oberlin shot in the 28
th minute, but the attempt sailed wide.
After surrendering another goal in the 50
th minute, the Yeowomen would get on the board six minutes later.
Amelia Huang drove towards the net forcing the Battling Bishops keeper Alycia Goins to make a save giving
Katie Ryan-O'Flaherty a wide open look on the rebound. The goal was O'Flaherty's first of the year and second of her career.
Ryan-O'Flaherty would get a chance to put the Yeowomen within one in the 59
th minute, but Goins was up for the challenge.
A minute later, the Battling Bishops would closeout the scoring when Alexis Roberts beat the Oberlin keeper on a penalty stroke attempt.
The Yeowomen outshot Ohio Wesleyan 10-9 and forced five penalty corners to the Battling Bishops two in second half.

Kennedy Kline played all 70 minutes in between the pipes and made nine saves bringing her season total to 213.
Oberlin is back in action on Saturday when they take on The College of Wooster for its final game of the season.
