Yeomen Fall in Regular Season Finale at Wooster

Wooster, Ohio – The Oberlin College men's basketball team dropped its regular-season finale at The College of Wooster on Saturday night 97-56.
 
With the loss Oberlin enters the NCAC Tournament as the No. 7 seed and will face the Scots again on Tuesday night.
 
Oberlin was plagued by 20 turnovers in the loss and never settled into the game. Scott Miller had a strong showing off the bench as he finished with 14 points. Senior center Randy Ollie added 13 points, while freshman Eli Silverman-Lloyd chipped in with 12.
 
The Yeomen trailed 17-12 midway through the opening half, but a 12-3 Scots' run increased their lead out to 14, 29-15, at the 6:27 mark. It was 36-23 with 3:39 left in the frame, but Oberlin was shutout for the remainder of the period as the Scots took a 42-23 cushion into the locker room.
 
In the second half things would only get worse for the Yeomen as Wooster continued to pour it on and never let up.
 
Oberlin shot 40.4-percent (19-of-47), while the Scots shot a blistering 58.1-percent (36-of-62) in the win. The Scots netted 32 points off the 20 Oberlin miscues, out-scored the Yeomen 42-12 in the paint and finished with a 17-5 advantage in second-chance points.
 
The Yeomen finish the regular season at 7-11 in the NCAC and 12-13 overall. The Scots moved to 19-6 overall and will take their 15-3 conference record into the tournament as the No. 2 seed.
 
The Yeomen will try to make some adjustments over the next two days as they travel right back to Wooster on Tuesday night. Tip-time is at 7:30 p.m.
