Richmond, IN – In the first match-up between the Earlham College Quakers and Oberlin College Yeowomen it took a penalty stroke shootout to determine the winner. Today's battle was also nip-and-tuck throughout, but again it was the Quakers who outlasted Oberlin, earning a 2-1 win in regulation on Saturday afternoon.
After an aggressive first half by the Yeowomen in which they fired nine shots with seven on goal, their offensive prowess slowed down in the second session as they registered two shots over the final 35 minutes of action.
The score was tied 1-1 at the intermission, but the ultimate game-winning goal was scored by Megan Hut in the 57
th minute, marking her sixth tally of the season.
The Quakers took an early lead, scoring just 2:50 into the match when Kaitlyn Brunner cashed in her fourth score of the year with the help of a Hut assist.

Ariana Enzerink would find the equalizer for the Yeowomen in the 21
st minute, finishing off a corner opportunity from
Amelia Huang. It was Enzerink's second score of the season and Huang's fourth assist.
The Yeowomen nearly captured the lead twice the first half, but the Earlham backline stood tall with two key defensive saves.
Maureen Coffey put one on frame that got denied by Natalie Blatz and just seconds later Coffey had another chance that Maite Turlings stepped in front of to keep out of the cage.
Earlham put seven shots on goal in the match as
Maggie Gossiaux came up big with five saves in the contest.
Oberlin forced Camille van der Vaart to also make five saves, but she was also aided twice by her defensive mates along the way.
The defeat for Oberlin marks its sixth one-goal loss of the season and third in a row.
The Yeowomen will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they take on DePauw University at 1 p.m.
