CLAREMONT, Ca. – Oberlin College men's soccer gained a 90th minute victory over Pomona-Pitzer to concluded their stint on the West Coast.
It was a tight nil-nil game in Claremont, California for 89 minutes. With under 20 second remaining in the fixture, junior midfielder
Adam Chazin-Gray knocked a cross into the penalty area that found the foot of sophomore
Timothy Williams.
Williams rapped a shot toward goal that was turned away by Sagehens keeper Ben Mitchell. Fortunately, the save rebounded in front of the net and the feet of Williams.The Rabun Gap, Georgia, native drove home the second-chance opportunity with 11 second left in the match to seal the Yeomen's second victory of the season in thrilling fashion. Williams finished the night with three shots, all on target and the game-winner.
Chazin-Gray tallied three shots, two on target and the vital cross in front to set up the Williams score. The Sagehens kept the senior duo of john Ingham and
Slade Gottlieb reasonably quiet as the pair fired just one shot on goal.
Forward
Sam Weiss also got in on the action in the offensive third with one shot, while out of the back
Galen Brennan tallied a shot as well.
It was a slow start for the Oberlin men as they recorded only two shots in the first 45 minutes. Head coach
Blake New's halftime talk sparked the Oberlin offensive front to step up the intensity with nine shots in the second stanza.
The Sagehens were led by the efforts of Voja Maric who recorded seven shots, three on goal.

Koryn Kraemer was in good form registering five saves in the first clean sheet performance of his young career.
The Yeomen will hop on a plane back home and take most of the week off from competition until Friday evening.
The Oberlin men will open the 2015 home schedule by hosting Waynesburg University as the first half of a men's-women's doubleheader on Friday, September 11.
