Wooster, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team took to the road and fell to The College of Wooster, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Scots and Yeowomen went to overtime earlier this season, with Oberlin finishing on the wrong end of a 5-4 decision. However, on this day, the Yeowomen offense never got going as they triggered just two shots in the 70 minutes of action.
Wooster got on the board in the 17
th minute on a Lauren Abbott goal as she was setup by Anjela Galimberti. It remained a 1-0 game until the 47
th minute when Rose Taylor tacked on an insurance goal for the Scots.
Maureen Coffey and
Taylor Swift attempted both of Oberlin's shots with each being on goal.
Wooster finished 15 shots, including 11 on goal. They also earned 17 penalty corners compared to Oberlin's three.
Maggie Gossiaux made nine saves for the Yeowomen.
Oberlin will conclude its season tomorrow afternoon at Kenyon College.
