Gambier, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team ended its season with a 2-0 defeat at Kenyon College on Sunday afternoon.
The Ladies scored twice in the early going, but the Yeowomen held their own against NCAC-leading Kenyon for the 70 minutes of play.
A penalty stroke goal from Maddie Breschi in the third minute was followed with a Christine Bloom goal in the sixth minute and the Ladies made that stand up the rest of the way.
Maggie Gossiaux registered 14 saves for the Yeowomen as she ended the season with 201 stops.
Oberlin had five shots and earned five penalty corners in the contest.
Taylor Swift and
Dillon Sebastian each had a shot on goal for Oberlin.
Kenyon enters the NCAC Tournament as the top seed with an overall record of 16-2 and conference mark of 13-1.
Oberlin will continue the rebuild of its program under first-year head coach
Tiffany Saunders in 2016.
