Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Yeomen Ousted by Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio – Oberlin men's soccer suffered a 4-1 loss to the Ohio Wesleyan University Battling Bishops Friday night, eliminating any chance of the Yeomen returning to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

The loss moves the Oberlin men to 5-8-2 overall and 2-4-1 in the NCAC. Ohio Wesleyan advances to 12-3-2  and remains undefeated in league competition at 6-0-1.

The Battling Bishops struck first, 1:25 into the contest. A header from an OWU corner kick opportunity snuck past Oberlin's sophomore keeper Connor English - who was making his first start of the season - for the game's first goal.

Sophomore midfielder Adam Chazin-Gray answered less than six minutes later with the lone Yeomen tally of the game. Chazin-Gray knocked in a rebound off of a shot attempt from senior Nick Wertman. The score marks Chazin-Gray's fourth of the season and his third goal in two games.

The Battling Bishops stole back the lead before the half with their second goal of the night. Ohio Wesleyan took a 2-1 lead into the second half and doubled their command with two more in the second stanza to put the Yeomen out of playoff contention.

Oberlin men's soccer will return to action on Wednesday, October 29, as they square off with the Allegheny College Gators. Kick off in Meadville, Pennsylvania is slated for 7 p.m.
