Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Yeomen Fall on the Road at Allegheny

Meadville, PA – The Oberlin College men's soccer team led on two separate occasions, but they couldn't make it stand up as the home Gators of Allegheny College scored three second-half goals to earn a 4-2 win over the Yeomen on Wednesday night.

The Yeomen wasted little time in taking the early lead as Adam Chazin-Gray continued his torrid pace by netting his fourth goal over the last three matches to put the visitors ahead in 10th minute.  The sophomore from Berkeley, California, chipped in shot from 15-yards out that floated over the keeper's head.

However, just over 10 minutes later the Gators got back to even as Izaak Miller sent in a cross to the middle from Tolossa Hassan.

Oberlin kept up the pressure and ultimately struck again before the first-half horn would sound. It was senior Dylan Tencic who cashed in his first goal of the season and second of his career in the 39th minute to give the Yeomen a 2-1 lead heading into the intermission. Tencic settled a long pass from Sam Bernhard and then curled in his shot from 15-yards out.

Unfortunately, the Yeomen were unable to maintain the lead as the Gators added their second equalizer of the match eight minutes into the second half. This time it was Cameron Olson who sent in a piercing strike to the lower 90 from 30-yards away.

Olson would later return the favor, earning an assist of his own as he sent a free kick into the box that was headed home by Stefano Wach in the 67th minute to put the Gators out in front for the first time of the night.

In the closing moments Wach would add an insurance goal as he followed up a shot from Hassan and put the rebound back in for his second tally of the night to effectively end the match.

The Gators out-shot the Yeomen 17-7, but had just a 7-5 margin in shots on goal. Oberlin finished with a 4-3 edge in corners. It was a physical contest, especially in the second half as the Gators registered 18 fouls against just seven for the Yeomen. Oberlin was shown yellow two times, while Allegheny drew one.

Oberlin will conclude its season with senior day on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. The Yeomen will play host to the sixth-ranked Lords of Kenyon.
