Delaware, Ohio – The Oberlin College field hockey team continued its run through the North Coast Athletic Conference, falling 3-0 on Saturday evening at Ohio Wesleyan University.
The Yeowomen welcomed back two players from injury, which helped them stay in the game for all 70 minutes. The three-goal shortcoming was Oberlin's smallest margin of defeat so far this season.
The Bishops took a 2-0 lead into the intermission as Cheyenne Gibbons scored three minutes in off a rebound and then later in the frame it was Haley Savoie who deposited her first of two goals in the match. Savoie would add her second tally just over 10 minutes into the second half.
The Bishops finished with a 34-4 margin in shots, but just 12 of their attempts were on frame.
Maureen Coffey triggered three shots for the Yeowomen, while
Ariana Enzerink had the team's lone shot on goal.
Maggie Gossiaux added nine saves in the loss.
Oberlin will have a short turnaround as it goes right back to work tomorrow afternoon at Wittenberg University. The first touch is set for 1 p.m.
