Berea, Ohio –
Baldwin-Wallace College scored in five of the first six innings as it cruised to a 9-1 win over the Oberlin College baseball team on Thursday afternoon at Heritage Field.

The Yellow Jackets pounded out 16 hits, while the Yeomen scattered eight hits in the game.

Junior Max Phinney finished 2-for-3 and scored the team's lone run in the third inning – coming across the dish on a single to centerfield by rookie Matt Fish. Fish, a native of Lake Orion, Michigan, also went 2-for-3 in the game.

Oberlin starter Ryan Mouch got touched up for 14 hits and seven runs (six earned) in five innings of work.

Pat Havens registered the win for Yellow Jackets (9-18) as he struck out six in the complete-game victory.

The Yeomen (17-15), who have lost six out of their last seven games, will have a quick turnaround as their NCAC Tournament hopes will be on the line starting tomorrow against Allegheny College. The Yeomen must win three of four games against the Gators in order to qualify for the postseason. First pitch will be at 2 p.m. Fans should note that this is a schedule change in order to avoid potential rainfall on Sunday.
