Intramural Signups

How to enter an event

The Intramural Office tries to make entering an intramural sport/event as convenient as possible for those who are interested in participating:

* Entries are taken based on availability and a first-come, first-served basis.
* Information and entry forms can be obtained online. from
* Anyone unable to locate a team on which to play may sign up on the Free Agent Board at the Intramural Office.
* Deadlines, schedules, and starting times for 2019-20 will post soon as well as more information on the entry forms themselves.
* Secure the name and T-number of the people who will play on your team.
* Check the eligibility of team members. Rules for eligibility are available on the Rules & Policies page, or in your paper intramurals handout. Any questions about eligibility should be addressed to the IM office.
* Make sure all the other information requested for that particular event entry is completed.
* Return the completed entry form to the IM Office by the designated entry deadline (usually at the captains' meeting).
* Attend the organizational captains' meeting, if one is listed for that sport/event. Each team is required to have a representative at the captains' meeting. If a team representative cannot attend or is late, s/he must meet with an intramural staff member to discuss the material missed at the meeting. If these stipulations are not met, a team can lose its right to protest a contest, or may even be dropped from the event.
* Pick up a playing schedule before play is scheduled to commence in order to verify correct roster and playing time.

Program Eligibility

All members of the Oberlin College community - current students and employees - are eligible to participate in the intramural program.

Late Entries

Punctuality is vital to the efficient operation of the IM program. Late entries will be kept on file, and only inserted into the league/event based on: 1) proper completion of entry form, and 2) a team drops out of the league/event or there is a space available to complete a league.

The Intramural Office may be able to accommodate late entries, but there is no guarantee that a late entry will be included in the league/event. Individuals on teams unable to be added because of a late entry may still participate by joining an existing team via free agency or roster addition prior to the 2nd contest.

Team Captains

Each participating team must have a team captain to conduct all business between the team and the IM Office and/or the Event Coordinator. It is suggested that great care be taken in the selection of a captain who will be responsible for the following:

* Entering the team in the desired activity by the entry deadline. Full names and student ID numbers must be sent in along with injury waiver forms.
* Attending all scheduled captains' meetings.
* Providing $20 forfeit bond for team league play.
* Checking the eligibility of all team members, and ensuring that they bring their ID cards to the games.
* Picking up the schedule, and keeping team members informed of the date, time, and place of scheduled contests.
