Oberlin, Ohio – Scoring a career-best eight points, Oberlin College women's lacrosse sophomore
Kylie Thompson lift the Yeowomen to a 14-5 victory over Marietta on Wednesday night. The Crimson and Gold extend their season to 4-0 overall.
Thompson led the team with six goals, added another two assists to her incredible outing.
Mary Rodman,
Elle Lavin,
Maddie Darlington, and
Olivia Corradi each added a pair of goals to the home win.
Emily Berger and
Janny McCormick split game in goal, with Berger earning the win and McCormick collecting five saves. Corradi caused three turnovers on defense and added a pair of ground balls.
Megan Hiller and
Maddie Weathers combined for another four ground balls. On the draw, Darlington led the team with four draw controls.
After a slow start to the game, Thompson connected with Rodman for the first score of the game. Thompson scored next after a pass from Lavin, putting Oberlin up 2-0. Marietta responded right away, but Oberlin closed the quarter with another score to maintain the two-point lead.
The Yeowomen dominated the second quarter, blanking the Pioneers and extending their lead by five goals. Up 8-1 over Marietta, Lavin wasted no time getting the scoring going in the second half, scoring just 38 seconds after the whistle off a shift face dodge. The 6-0 ended with a Marietta goal, but again Oberlin responded to keep their advantage.
Off and away with the game, the Crimson and Gold closed out the game with a 4-2 quarter for a 14-5 victory.

Oberlin continues their hot start with a road test against Ohio Northern, a team the Yeowomen beat 21-3 last season. The Saturday, March 7 matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m.
