Westlake, Ohio – In just his second-career start, Oberlin College baseball pitcher
Jameson Bryant has earned North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
"Jameson was great this past week. He was able to control the game from the first pitch and throughout his whole outing." Head Coach
Johnathan Ray said, "You don't expect that from a first year, but when it comes together it's fun to watch. He's going to be a big piece of our pitching staff for the next 4 years"
The Mainer delivered a dominant outing on the mound to lead Oberlin to a 7-2 victory over Hamilton at the RussMatt Invitational.
Making his second-career start, Bryant pitched 7.0 strong innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits while striking out nine. He faced 25 batters and needed only 85 pitches to control the game from start to finish.
Bryant's performance secured his second win of the season, keeping him undefeated at 2-0, and anchored a key victory during Oberlin's successful tournament run.
The rookie was also recognized by
d3sportsdata as one of top ten pitchers in NCAA Division III this week.
Coming off a fantastic spring break, the Yeomen look to continue to hot play at Otterbein this evening, Tuesday, March 31. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
