Cleveland, Ohio – The Oberlin College swim & dive team registered 14 personal bests as they wrapped up their season at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Case Western Reserve on Saturday.
Highlighting the day from the second session, Leo Powers produced a personal best of 52.24 in the 100-yard back, which ranks fourth in program history.
Kicking off the morning session with a personal best in the 100-yard individual medley, Kendall McKelvey delivered a personal best of 1:06.43, finishing over a second ahead of her previous record. Martin Gomez followed in the men's 100-yard IM, touching the wall in 57.77 and finishing nearly a second ahead of his previous best.
In the 100-yard breast, Gretchen Lotter clocked in a time of 1:13.55 to finish over 12 seconds ahead of her seed time and earned her first personal record of the day.
In the 50-yard fly, Mark Sferra recorded a personal best of 24.96 to shave off on his seed time of 25.31.
Highlighting the distance, Katherine Noller swam to a personal best of 18:38.44 in the 1,650-yard free, finishing 14 seconds ahead of her previous best.
In the 500-yard free, Philip Cauwels clocked in a personal record of 4:57.22.
Gomez continued the PR streak for Oberlin in the 200-yard IM, touching the pads in 2:04.73.
Closing out the morning session of personal bests, Lotter secured a PR of 29.95 in the 50-yard back.
Opening the second session with a personal record in the 100-yard free, Addie Malley clocked in a time of 57.17, finishing over two seconds ahead of her seed mark.
Following in the 100-yard free, Gomez knocked off four seconds from his seed time with a finishing time of 50.32. Sferra trailed right behind Gomez with a personal best of 50.96.
In the 100-yard fly, Cauwels grabbed another personal best, notching a time of 57.52.
Malley rounded out the day of PRs for Oberlin, posting a personal best in the 100-yard back, touching the wall in 1:02.93.
"Our team showed they were a resilient and hard-working group throughout the season," Head Coach Alex de la Peña adds. "We are very proud of them and all they accomplished this year."
This concludes the 2025-26 season for the Crimson and Gold as they graduate seven seniors. After a well-deserved break, they look ahead to the spring training season.
