Granville, Ohio – The Oberlin College swim and dive team finished the final day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday night. The Yeowomen earned 681 points to earn sixth overall, while the Yeomen claimed 786 points to finish seventh.

Leading the charge, Leo Powers swam an incredible 51.44 in the 100-yard IM to clinch third overall and earn NCAC All-Conference honors. The speedy finish breaks his own school record he set at last year's conference championships. Additionally, this is the third-straight year that he's recorded a personal best in the 100 IM.

With a top-ten finish, Chahine Saïd cruised to a 16:08.95 to score 24 points for the Yeomen in the 1,650-yard free. Katherine Noller led the women with 18:52.71 on the women's side of the race, followed by Cam Maurer (19:16.27), and Tripp Hawkins (19:23.74).

Alongside Powers in the 100-yard IM, Zach Black also earned a bid into the A-Finals. Swimming to a personal-best 53.81 for eighth overall. Nyrobi Whitfield (1:03.06) led the women's 100-yard IM, clinching 12th ahead of teammate Andie Kinstle (1:05.79) in 16th.

In the 200-yard back, James Moll touched the pads in 1:53.95 for 12th overall. Addie Malley also grabbed 12th and 18 points for Oberlin in the 200-yard back. Coming in at 2:14.19, Malley improves upon her PR, which she had just reset in the prelims earlier that day.

Gretchen Lotter was the sole Obie to make the B-Final in the 200-yard free. The sophomore came just shy of her personal best but grabbed a top-20 spot with 55.84. John Polylogidis continued Oberlin's momentum in the 100-yard free with a time of 47.79. Teammates Kye Marrero (48.86) and Emerson Rutherford-Parish (49.77) finished just later to round out the top-25.

After a record-breaking performance the day before, Yoo Soomin had another appearance in the A-Finals, this time for the 200-yard breast. The sophomore grabbed seventh and swam a personal best time of 2:29.94. The swim ties for the seventh-best all-time, ironically tangled with Maura Selenak '08, whose record Yoo broke in the 100-yard breast.

On the men's side, Charles Matia led the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:07.02. A personal best, this time also ranks third best in program history.

At the top of the B-Final, Kaylee Johnson claimed a new PR with a 2:13.00 in the 200-yard fly. The performance also puts her eighth overall in school history. Also in the B-Final, Kendal McKelvey touched the pads in 2:23.63 to earn 17th.

Finished with the individual events, the meet neared the end with the start of the 400-yard free relay. Oberlin's Saïd, Polylogidis, Miguel Siwady, and Black earned 56 points for the Yeomen with a fifth-place finished at a 3:07.24 performance.

Closing out the Championships, Oberlin's A-team of Lotter, Yoo, Hailey Hamilton, and Whitfield swam 3:45.91 in the relay, grabbing seventh and 52 for the team.

Kenyon clinched the women's title with 1,944 points, beating Denison by just 89 points. DePauw followed in third with 1,377.5 points, with John Carroll, and Wooster rounding out the top-five with 1,037 and 991 points, respectively.

On the men's side, Denison earned the title with 1,958.5 points, finished 217 points ahead of Kenyon. Newcomer John Carroll came in third with 1,192.5 points. DePauw finished fourth with 1,095 points, right ahead of Wabash with 1,030 points.

Looking to make their last effort at an NCAA A or B Cut, the Crimson and Gold squad head to Case Western Reserve on Friday, February 20 for the two-day Spartan Invite.
