Rodman Lifts Oberlin Past John Carroll in Overtime on Senior Day

Oberlin, Ohio – Mary Rodman delivered the game-winning goal 4:46 into overtime to lift Oberlin field hockey to a 2-1 victory over John Carroll on Saturday morning at Bailey Field.

Rodman's third goal of the season came on her only shot of the afternoon, sealing the overtime victory at the 64:46 mark.

Prior to the contest, the Crimson and Gold took time to celebrate their five seniors Leila Burki, Zoe Eisen, Clare Kammeier, Meaghan Kramer, and Bella Tilford.

Oberlin struck first late in the first half when Kammeier found the back of the cage at 34:27. Johana Horvath assisted on the goal, marking Kammeier's eighth of the season and giving the Crimson and Gold a 1-0 advantage.

The Blue Streaks responded at 52:59 in the fourth quarter to even the score at 1-1 and force overtime.

In the extra period, Oberlin found its rhythm offensively, recording four shots and earning three penalty corners while holding John Carroll to two shots and no corners. Rodman ultimately provided the finish, sending the home crowd into celebration with the decisive goal.

Mia Rubin anchored the Oberlin defense throughout the contest, playing all 64:46 in goal and making five saves, including two in overtime. Shelby Roth led the Crimson and Gold with three shots, putting two on target, while Kammeier added two shots, both on goal.

John Carroll held a 12-9 advantage in total shots and earned 14 penalty corners to Oberlin's six. However, the Crimson and Gold matched the Blue Streaks with six shots on goal and came away with the overtime victory.

The Crimson and Gold demonstrated resilience and continued growth throughout the 2026 season, highlighted by a Homecoming victory over Washington & Jefferson, key wins over John Carroll and Wittenberg, and a historic performance against Kenyon. Contributions from across the roster and several standout individual performances helped make for a memorable campaign. As the Yeowomen graduate five seniors, they will look to build on this season's accomplishments, carry valuable experience into the offseason, and continue progressing heading into the 2027 campaign.
