Following a layup from Montas early in the second, the Owls delivered their own 7-0 run to reclaim the edge. Behind 22-19, Najmulski knocked down another three-pointer to tie the home team at 3:25, followed by a free throw from Kumler and a fastbreak layup from Peña-Hilzen. Kenyon slowly edged their way back to a slight lead leading into the halftime break.
Going an impressive 9-13 from the floor in the third frame, Oberlin opened with a trio of layups as Peña-Hilzen led with the first two along with a layup from Kumler. With less than two minutes remaining in the period, the Yeowomen added six points to the board to extend their lead to eight going into the final session.
Finishing with another strong quarter, Najmulski registered back-to-back buckets, starting with a shot from behind the arc, followed by a layup on the next possession. Ellie Pollock-Ballard added her own five-point burst with her own three-pointer and a jumper. Kenyon attempted to close the gap with back-to-back triples, but Oberlin was able to hold them off to secure their second conference victory of the season.
"Our players really responded after the half with a great third quarter!" Head Coach Stephany Dunmyer continues. "So many different people stepped up for us; Lily knocking down threes, Angela taking over in the third, and creating havoc defensively all game. Gabby finished so well in the second half, Krystal posted a huge double-double, and Ellie added five of the biggest points towards the end of the game!"
