Oberlin, Ohio - Oberlin College Head Men's Basketball Coach
Shiva Senthil has announced the appointment of
Evan Wiehe to the role of Assistant Men's Basketball Coach.
"I am super excited to add Coach Wiehe to our staff," Senthil continues. "He is a young energetic coach who has a lot of high-level playing experience. I think he will be someone that will make an immediate impact to our program and add to the culture that we have been building."
Wiehe spent the past two years working in tennis operations at the Boonsboro Country Club. Previously, he worked with the Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy boy's basketball team.
A member of the men's basketball team at Mount Saint Joseph University, Wiehe graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management in 2023. During his time as a Lion, he was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court (2023) and was named to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Team (2023).
This past May, the Ohio native graduated with his Master of Arts in Coaching and Sport Leadership from Randolph College. Competing on the WildCats for two seasons, Wiehe was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2025.
"I'm super excited to join the coaching staff at Oberlin College," Wiehe adds. "I want to thank Coach Senthil for this great opportunity and I look forward to working with him and Coach Smith this coming season. Can't wait to get to work! Go Yeomen!"
