Oberlin Dips Against Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio – Outscoring the Battling Bishops in the second, the Oberlin College women's lacrosse team's late comeback fell short on Wednesday evening. Dropping the NCAC contest 16-6, the Yeowomen even out at 8-8 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

With four goals on six shots, Kylie Thompson led the attack while Megan Hiller and Maddie Darlington chipped in with the remaining two goals. Behind cage, Larissa Andrick continued to dominate the field with a trio of assists. Phoebe Dolan and Olivia Corradi added to the offense with a pair of draw controls each.

In cage, Emily Berger and Janny McCormick split time combining for eight saves. Causing a pair of turnovers, Giuliana Urban and Rachel Reiter combined for a pair of ground balls as well.

The Battling Bishops jumped out to an early lead, scoring eight-straight goals before a rip around cage from Thompson put the Yeowomen on the board. Playing man-down Oberlin added one more score before the half ended with a shot from Darlington off a feed from Andrick.

Facing a 14-2 deficit, the Crimson and Gold chipped away with another goal off the stick of Thompson. The first-year sensation connected with the back of the net again, on a last-minute feed from Hiller.

Hiller scored her own to start the final period, but the settled attack came up short of their comeback. Notching her 40th goal of the season with 40 seconds remaining, Thompson closed out the game for Oberlin.

The Yeowomen return to the turf this weekend, Saturday, April 26 when they host DePauw for their final home matchup. Celebrating their seniors before the draw, Oberlin is set to face the Tigers at 4 p.m
