Oberlin, Ohio – During the Oberlin College men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Wednesday, February 19, the Black Student-Athlete Group (BSAG) will celebrate Black History Month with a multitude of festivities.

"This a make-or-break game for conference, and BSAG has invited the whole Oberlin campus and city community to be there to support our athletes in their most important games of the season!" BSAG Co-Chair Koby Mbonu continues, "Please come show to support to the women's team at 6 p.m. and men's team at 8 p.m. so they fight to play another game"

The game will feature a special fundraiser for Black Girls Code, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls of color in the field of technology through coding education and mentorship.

"BSAG has been committed to raising money for different non-profit organizations as an effort to give back to our communities." BSAG SAAC Liaison Namu Makatiani reflects on his experiences, "It is part of the reason why I decided to join this club in the first place. This year, we hope to continue that commitment by raising money for Black Girls Code. This organization is of extreme importance to us, especially during these trying times. They provide girls of color a familiarity in STEM, a field where support and a sense of community is beneficial for learning."

Fans can support the combined efforts of BSAG and Black Girls Code through in-person or remote donations through Venmo. Please make your gifts to @OberlinBSAG25 on Venmo.

The final home games of the regular season are set to begin with the women taking on Hiram at 6 p.m. The men will tip-off next, at approximately 8 p.m. against Kenyon.

Fans can keep up with their favorite teams on Instagram, Facebook, X, or TikTok, and watch all the home matches live online. The Crimson and Gold's home broadcasts can be accessed on TV through the official Oberlin College Sports Network app on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
