Oberlin, Ohio - Oberlin College Director of Sports Medicine,
Jill Rondini has announced the hiring of
Paige Carter to the role of Assistant Athletic Trainer.
"We are excited to welcome Paige to our Oberlin College Sports Medicine team! She brings great experience as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and rounds out our team of six, offering further insight and ideas for continuing our efforts to maintain excellent medical care for our student athletes." Rondini adds, "Paige will be responsible for our field hockey, men's swimming & diving, and softball teams. I am confident in her ability and eagerness to contribute to those programs' success."
Prior to joining Oberlin, Carter worked as an athletic trainer for MetroHealth for two years. While working for MetroHealth, Carter provided coverage for local high school teams' practices, including preventative care, injury evaluations, and emergency care, as well as covering MetroHealth events.
A certified personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist, Carter is the owner of Fitness on the Run, a service that provides exercise programming for senior clients. Working with clients with Parkinson's, cancer, and Alzheimer's, Carter also led classes for local fitness instructors.
Carter will assist in the coverage of all of Oberlin's varsity athletic teams and began her duties with the Sports Medicine team in December.
"I'm incredibly excited to begin my journey at Oberlin College working with Oberlin Athletics and all of our amazing athletes as part of the Sports Medicine Team," Carter continues. "I can't wait to contribute, learn, and grow with such a dedicated community."
Carter graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2018.
