Oberlin, Ohio – In their final match of their season, the Oberlin College men's soccer team honored their four seniors,
Graham Field,
Louis Gandelheid,
Matthew Taubman, and
Nathan Thompson. Hosting DePauw, the Yeomen fell 1-0 on a late goal by the Tigers.

Midfield trio Gandelheid,
Leo Pelizzari-Astle, and
Walter Gomez-Torres led the charge with a pair of shots each. In goal,
Lukas Verling collected four saves, holding the Tigers off the board for nearly 79 minutes.

The first half saw impressive efforts from both teams, Tigers and Yeomen going toe-for-toe. Pelizzari-Astle got the first shot of the match off after Gomez-Torres sent the ball into the box on a corner kick. Blocked by the Tigers' defense, the Crimson and Gold remained scoreless.

At 30:48 DePauw's Branden Murphey drove the ball right to the center of cage, looking to score on a 1v1 opportunity. A perfectly timed slide tackle by Taubman ended the Tigers' chance.

Entering the second half deadlocked, the tensions continued to rise with both DePauw and Oberlin earning yellow cards to start the frame. After more than 78 minutes of action, DePauw broke the drought after a long cross connected with Harrison Engel for the go-ahead header.

Oberlin battled to score the equalizer, with their best opportunity come in the final minutes of action when Gomez-Torres tried to score on a tight angle in front of cage. Unable to convert the shot, Oberlin fell 1-0 in their season finale.

The Yeomen close out their season 4-13-2 on the year and 1-6-1 in North Coast action. Oberlin's defense saw an impressive increase in stops, led by Verling, the team made 108 saves this year. This marks a 22-shot improvement from the previous season.

Oberlin turns their sites to spring 2026 when they'll regroup and begin off-season training.
