Westlake, Ohio – Earning his first-career weekly honor, the Oberlin College cross country's Liam Newman nabs North Coast Athlete of the Week after a dominant performance at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
 
The Washington native delivered a standout performance at Ohio Wesleyan, placing fourth overall and finishing as the second Division III runner in a competitive field.
 
Newman crossed the line in 26:03, marking a career-best 8k time and continuing his strong start to the fall season. His impressive run set the tone for the Crimson and Gold, who continue to build momentum in early-season competition.
 
Oberlin hits the course again next Saturday, October 18, when they host the Inter-Regional Rumble for the first time since 2022.
