Hilton Head, SC - The Oberlin College men's tennis team fell to the 22nd-ranked Warhawks of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Tuesday afternoon at the Van Der Meer Tennis Complex.
The Warhawks breezed through doubles, surrendering just three games. The Yeomen's No. 2 tandem of
Rohan Gold and
Zain Makada challenged the grouping of Drew Van Fossen and Theo Billson, but the Oberlin duo ultimately lost 8-3.Â
Gold put up a strong fight in the top singles battle against the 16th-ranked Luke VanDonslear, but the Yeomen ace was eventually dispatched by matching 6-4 counts.Â
No other Yeoman was able to manage more than two games in either of their sets as the Warhawks lived up to their national billing.Â
The loss marked the third straight for the Yeomen, who fell to 4-6 on the season.Â
Oberlin concludes its spring break schedule with a 3 p.m. matinee against Franklin College.
