GAME ONE
Second-year starter, Hailey Alspach earned the spot on the bump for the Yeowomen, pitching the full seven innings and collecting four strikeouts. Alspach faced 37 batters from Capital and dished out 119 pitches.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Comets then scored a pair of runs to retake their advantage heading into the fourth inning, when the Yeowomen responded by getting back on the scoreboard themselves. Oberlin scored three runs in the frame, buoyed by a two-run homer from Means, which brought the Crimson and Gold lead to 5-4.
Oberlin's lead disappeared by the time the fifth inning arrived and turned into a 7-5 Capital advantage, when the Yeowomen cut that deficit to 7-6.
Capital expanded their lead to 8-6 before the Oberlin offense got back to work, digging into that lead in the sixth. The Yeowomen scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Alaina Di Dio, tightening the Capital lead to 8-7.
