MEADVILLE, PA- Recording a career-high six goals for seven points against Allegheny,
Emily Shimabukuro and the Oberlin College women's lacrosse team took down the Gators 16-10 on Saturday afternoon.

Audrey Koren played a hefty role on the offense as well, accounting for six points at three goals and three assists.
Olivia Corradi scored a pair of goals as well, going 2-2 from the free position. Shimabukuro added to her career day with a pair of ground balls and a turnover. In a team effort, 14 different Yeowomen recorded ground balls, led by
Janny McCormick with seven and Corradi with four. Â

McCormick also had a monster day in cage, making 17 saves in 55 minutes of play. The second-year keeper caused a turnover as well before she retired her spot in the final minutes of action to
Taryn Schwartz, who recorded a pair of saves.

Corradi's free position goal in the first minute of action helped Oberlin set the pace of the game. The old conference foes went back and forth with goals before Patchen scored off a failed free position attempt to give Oberlin the 4-3 lead.

The Yeowomen continued to roll with another goal early in the second period, coming off a pass from
Megan Hiller to Shimabukuro. The Gators quickly responded, but
Katie McMorris kept the Crimson and Gold's two-goal lead alive with a score at the 10:20 mark. Besides a last-second goal by Allegheny to end the second period, Oberlin sat comfortably ahead of the Gators 8-6 at halftime.

Coming out of the locker room ready to continue their control of the game,
Alexis Escobedo gave Oberlin the opening draw control. Koren notched goal #9, followed by a save from McCormick to keep the Yeowomen ahead by three. On the back of a failed free position attempt, Ashley Amato found a goal for the Gators to bring the score to 9-7. Over the next eight minutes, Oberlin added another pair of goals while causing a pair of turnovers and recording two saves.

Up 11-8 heading into the fourth quarter,

Audrey Koren to extend the Crimson and Gold's lead to four. With momentum behind them, Oberlin tallied three more unanswered goals sit ahead of Allegheny 15-8. The Gators mounted a small come back, but it wasn't enough to fend off another Oberlin goal as the Crimson and Gold snatched the road with 16-10.

The Crimson and Gold look to bounce back from this loss on Saturday, March 2 when they travel to Meadville, PA to take on their old foe, Allegheny. The Yeowomen and the Gators are set to begin at 1 p.m.
