OBERLIN, OH- After leading nearly the entirety of the game, the Oberlin College women's lacrosse team was outscored 9-1 in the final quarter, giving way to a 14-11 final. The loss moves Oberlin to an even 4-4.

Abbie Patchen continued her hot streak with five goals and two assists.
Lauren Mills and
Megan Hiller each added two goals in the contest, while
Emily Shimabukuro added a goal and an assist. On the defense, first-year
Phoebe Dolan came away with a trio of caused turnovers, and
Kaela Wilson and Hiller combined for seven ground balls.

Janny McCormick played a complete 60 minutes, tallying eight saves and a ground ball.

Mount Union struck first, but Oberlin was quick to respond behind Patchen's 25
th goal of the season. The Crimson and Gold defense was impenetrable from there on, forcing a handful of turnovers and poor shots. The Yeowomen kept the Purple Raiders off the board while adding another pair of goals before the quarter-break.

The offense continued to shine into the second period, capitalizing on a failed clear from Mount Union. Patchen found Mills for the 4-1 lead, but the Purple Raiders found their break and scored to come back within two. Ahead of the halftime break, Hiller and Shimabukuro found the back of the net to give Oberlin a 6-2 advantage midway through the game.

Patchen notched her third goal of the game to start the third quarter, but the Purple Raiders seemed to have reset their rhythm and responded with a goal less than two minutes later. With four minutes remaining in the quarter, the action picked up, beginning with a Moun goal at the  4:05 mark.
Giuliana Urban won the draw, giving Patchen another score to pull ahead by four. In the final seconds,
Larissa Andrick found Dolan inside the eight-meter to capitalize on a man-up opportunity.

The Crimson and Gold looked to be smooth sailing ahead of the final quarter, but Mount Union began mounting their comeback after scoring at the 12:16 mark. The Purple Raiders dominated the draw and tacked on four straight goals thereafter to take their first lead since the opening quarter. Down 11-10, Hiller scored the equalizer with 6:23 left to play. Mount Union reclaimed their lead just one minute later, and the visitor's maintained that lead to complete their comeback through the final minutes.

Oberlin takes a short break before returning to action on Saturday, March 23 for their spring break trip. The Crimson and Gold are set to take on NAIA powerhouse, the University of the Cumberlands, who are currently ranked third in the national poll. The Yeowomen and the Patriots are set to begin at 7 p.m.
