OBERLIN, OH – In celebration of Black History Month, Oberlin's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is hosting a pledge drive to raise funds for
Black Girls Code through a pair of basketball games this upcoming weekend.
The crowdfunding effort will coincide with the men's and women's basketball double-header on Saturday, February 10. The Crimson and Gold are set to host the DePauw Tigers, with the women's beginning at 2 p.m. and the men's game following at 4 p.m.
"We are excited to celebrate Black History Month by supporting Black Girls Who Code." SAAC representative Abbie Patchen continues, "This organization provides opportunities for girls of color to learn computer programming and set themselves up for careers in tech or whatever else they choose."
Supporters of Oberlin Athletics near and far can participate in the campaign through a custom donation or by selecting a pledge from the list below:

Squirrel's Nest Pledge: 25¢ for every point scored
Yeobie's Acorn Pledge: $1 for every point scored
Beyond the Arc Pledge: $5 for every three-pointer scored
Crimson Pledge: $75 for a team win
Gold Pledge: $100 for a team win
Pledge donations can be fulfilled through
PayPal, Venmo (@oberlinsaac), or cash in person.
