DELAWARE, OH- Camille Zinaich grabbed 11 rebounds, but the Oberlin College women's basketball team fell to the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops 79-50 on the road Saturday. The conference loss moves Oberlin back to 10-3 on the season and 1-1 in the NCAC.

Ellie Pollock-Ballard led the Yeowomen with 11 points, followed by Lily Najmulski with 11. Alyson Jefferson, Gina Lombard, and Anora Lee chipped in six as well..

Oberlin shared the ball well in Saturday's game, racking up 16 assists on 19 made field goals. Lombard's five assists paced the Crimson & Gold, while Jefferson also added four assists of her own.

The Oberlin defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Saturday's game, forcing 15 Ohio Wesleyan turnovers. Those takeaways turned into nine points on the other end of the floor. Zinaich's two steals led the way individually for the Yeowomen.

Oberlin started out the scoring by going on an 8-0 run, culminating in a three from Pollock-Ballard, to take an early lead with 6:33 left in the first quarter. The Yeowomen then surrendered that lead and entered the second quarter down 17-13.

Oberlin continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 40-25 halftime deficit.

Oberlin's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Crimson and Gold faced a 60-39 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter. Oberlin knocked down four three-pointers in the quarter to score 12 of its 14 total points.

Oberlin could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 79-50.
