Men’s Tennis Opens Season at Allegheny Invitational

Meadville, PA - The Oberlin College men's tennis team opened up the 2023-24 season over the weekend at the Allegheny College Invitational.
The Yeomen notched six wins on the singles court and added four more in doubles play.
First-year
Ben Tichauer went 2-0 in singles play as he defeated Will Jarvie of Allegheny 4-6, 6-4, 11-9 and also earned a three-set victory over RIT's Brian Brok 7-5, 1-6, 10-5.
Rohan Gold won 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 over Matt McGee of Baldwin Wallace University while
Shawn Lisann also dispatched McGee 6-3, 7-5.
Rookies
David Mnuskin and
Tory Johansson each registered their first-career collegiate victories as Mnuskin was a 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 victor over Verosh Jayanetti of RIT, while Johansson handled Allegheny's Evan Nelson 6-3, 6-2.
Mnuskin partnered with
James Foster in doubles play with the duo earning a pair of wins over three matches. They set aside Anthony Lounder and Ben Walerstein of RIT 6-1, and Jackson Akers and Nick Kubik of Washington & Jefferson 6-2.
Johansson and Tichauer also notched a pair of doubles wins, defeating the Gators' Jarvie and Nelson 6-4 before later dispatching Jacob Weingart and Henry Harders of Baldwin Wallace, 6-1.
The Yeomen will be back in action in two weeks on September 16 at the Kenyon College Invitational.
