Men’s Tennis Competes at Kenyon Invitational

Gambier, Ohio - The Oberlin College men's tennis team was in action over the weekend, competing at the Kenyon College Invitational. 

First-year Tory Johansson led the way, winning two singles matches while going unbeaten doubles with fellow newcomer Ben Tinchauer. Johansson was a 6-2, 7-6 victor over Wooster's Bennett Dickerson and he also took down the Scots' Alex Anikeeff 6-4. 6-2. 

He and Tinchauer were 6-3 winners over the Allegheny duo of Evan Nelson and Charles Stasolla. The rookie pairing also handed Kenyon's Gianluca Bocanegra and Harshal Rukhaiya a 6-4 defeat before easily setting aside Otterbien's Drew Wherley and Dylan Shook, 8-3. In singles play, Tinchauer also bested Dylan Shook of Otterbein with matching 6-2 scores. 

Rohan Gold was a 6-3, 7-5 winner over Justin Yi of Carnegie Mellon, while he and Shawn Lisann also picked up a pair of victories in doubles play. The pair handled Anton Hedlund and David Rodriguez of Allegheny 6-4 and would later dispatch Max Fickas and Neil Reddy of Otternein, 8-3. 

James Foster notched his first singles win of the season, outlasting Meriadec de Longeaux of John Carroll 3-6, 6-3, 10-7. David Mnuskin also added a three-set victory as he topped Wooster's Namit Misra 6-1, 3-6, 10-7.

The Yeomen will conclude their fall season at the end of the month at the ITA Central Region Championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
