Tempe, AZ - The Oberlin College men's and women's tennis teams were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their exceptional work in the classroom during the 2022-23 academic year.
Each squad was tabbed as an ITA All-Academic team for having a minimum team grade point average of 3.2 or above. Additionally, 11 individuals were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes for having earned a GPA of 3.5 or greater throughout the school year.
Representing the women's team as ITA Scholar-Athletes were
Marta Laska,
Lydia Zafeiri,
Anna Pastore, and
Dina Nouaime. The seven Yeomen who received the praise were
James Dill,
Sam Topper,
Grant North,
Sebastien Naginski,
Nathan Englehart,
Shawn Lisann, and
Rohan Gold.
This year, 1,012 men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 125 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic team distinction while 1,204 women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete with 160 teams also recognized as All-Academic.
The Oberlin men's and women's tennis teams will open the 2023-24 season in September.
