Gambier, OH - The Oberlin College women's lacrosse team fell to No. 21 Kenyon, 18-4 on Tuesday evening.
Kenyon jumped all over Oberlin from the onset, scoring six first-quarter goals to carry a 6-1 lead into the second quarter. The lone visitor goal in the session came courtesy of
Lauren Mills as she finished off a feed from
Audrey Koren.
The Owls kept up the pressure in the second quarter, scoring six more times as they carried a 12-2 lead into the intermission. First-year
Alee Holman-Evans found the back of the net with 45 ticks left in the half with the help of an
Ellie Jensen pass.
With the final outcome never in doubt, Kenyon went on to score six more second-half goals with the Yeowomen getting two more tallies in the fourth quarter. The final Oberlin scores came on free-position goals by
Megan Hiller and
Katie McMorris.
Janny McCormick made 10 saves in 38 minutes of action before giving way to
Becca Galbraith.
Oberlin fell back 7-8 overall and 1-4 in the NCAC with the loss. They will close out the season on Saturday at home against the College of Wooster. The opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
