Box Score Springfield, OH - The Oberlin College men's tennis team earned a 5-4 road win at Wittenberg University on Saturday afternoon.
The Yeomen dropped all three doubles matches, but rallied in singles play to pull off a key conference victory.
In the top singles flight, Yeomen senior
Sean Billerbeck set aside Joe Patton by matching 6-3 counts.
Rohan Gold took care of Ethan Libby by identical 6-2 scores at No. 2 singles, while
Sebastien Naginski followed with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over Kyle Fout in the fourth position.
The bottom part of the lineup was much needed on this day as the senior duo
James Dill and
Sam Topper came through when they were needed most.
Dill was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Mark Trinka at No. 5, while classmate
Sam Topper followed with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Derek Stinefield in the sixth position.
The win ran Oberlin's record to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the NCAC.
The Yeomen will conclude the regular season next Sunday at Ohio Wesleyan University.
