Volleyball Drops Regular-Season Finale at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH --The Oberlin College volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Blue Streaks offense Thursday on the road falling to John Carroll in three sets (19-25, 15-25, 19-25).

The non-conference loss moved Oberlin to 13-9 on the season.

Cami Sweet finished with five kills to lead the Yeowomen attack with a hitting percentage of .400. Oberlin had 24 kills in the match to go along with 19 errors to finish with just a .053 success rate. 

Iris Archibald recorded 11 digs to lead OC defensively, while Tayloe Gwynne added seven to go along with 17 assists. 

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Yeowomen fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-19. Oberlin trailed by as many as seven points as John Carroll grabbed the advantage for good at 13-12 in a set that was tied up six times before the Blue Streaks took control.

SET 2 | A 25-15 set-two loss put Oberlin behind two sets to none in the match. Oberlin trailed by as many as 11 points as John Carroll grabbed the advantage for good at 6-5 in a set that was tied up two times before the Blue Streaks took over the lead.

SET 3 | John Carroll finished off the sweep with a third-set victory. The Yeowomen lost a tough set 25-19. Oberlin trailed by as many as 10 points as John Carroll grabbed the advantage for good at 3-2 in a set that was knotted up two times before the Blue Streaks took over the lead.
