Twelve Personal Bests Highlight Oberlin’s Run at NCAA Regionals

NORTON, OH- The Oberlin College cross country team hit the road to race in the NCAA Regional Championships on Saturday morning. The men's team combined for 453 points to finish 16^th of 40 teams, while the women tallied 366 points to finish 13^th. Walter Moak led the men's team to finish 50^th overall with a time of 25:00.1 in the 8k. In the women's 6k race, Sage Reddish led the team with a 38^th-place finish in 22:01.1.

Johnny Ragsdale checked in after Moak at 25:27.8 to earn 89^th and a new PR, just seconds before Danny Markey (25:32.3 PR) and Jonah Barber (25:33.2) crossed the finish line. The next harrier pair to come in finished with more personal best times. Charlie Endres (25:20.9) and Will Gordon (26:14.8) came through just outside the top 100. Clocking in with a new personal best time of 26:24.5 was Aidan Duffield, who rounded out the Yeomen's run in Norton.

In the 6k, Eliza Medearis followed Reddish to earn 52^nd with a time of 22:20.0. The leading duo both ran the best times of their career. Camila Ciembroniewicz (22:36.5) and Margo Lee (22:47.2) finished with new career marks while rounding out the top 100 for the Crimson and Gold. Amber Borofsky (23:32.5), Sophie Mateja (23:39.8), and Caleigh Lyons (24:21.0) followed suit, all tallying personal best marks.

With no runners qualifying for the NCAA National Championship, the 2023 cross country season has come to an end. Many members of the team will now take a short rest before beginning their training for the indoor track and field season, set to begin in December.
