OBERLIN, OH -- The visiting DePauw University Tigers rallied from a 2-1 match deficit to knock off the Oberlin College volleyball team in five sets 25-15, 18-25, 25-20, 14-25, 9-15) on Saturday afternoon at Philips Gym.
Prior to the match, Oberlin honored its seniors Andrea Jones,
Lauren Sands, and
Taylor Gwynne for their dedication to the program over the last four years. They would each factor heavily in today's action as well, as Gwynne racked up nine kills while hitting at a .529 clip to go along with 36 assists and two aces. Jones finished with a team-high 11 kills, while Sands added 10 kills to accompany 12 digs and a pair of aces.
Cami Sweet sent down a team-high 12 kills to help the attack, while
Natalie Dufour chipped in with nine. On the defensive end,
Iris Archibald led the way with 14 digs while
Zeynep Kaya contributed 12.
The loss dropped Oberlin's record to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in NCAC action, while the Tigers remained unblemished in league play, running their record to 12-10 and 5-0 in the NCAC.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Yeowomen won the first point and never looked back to win the first set 25-15. Oberlin led 10-9 and would create some separation with a 4-0 spurt. A kill from
Julia Hall made it 17-11 and Oberlin would hold DePauw to just four points the rest of the way. Oberlin collected 15 kills while only registering one attack error in the process.
SET 2 | Oberlin lost the second set 25-18 to even the match 1-1. DePauw grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Tigers took over with a 7-0 run.
SET 3 | Oberlin fired back after the set-two loss to take the third set and a 2-1 lead in the match. The Yeowomen took the set 25-20 powered by a solid performance on the attacking side. Oberlin put together a .341 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Yeowomen ended on a strong note, stretching their lead to its largest point in the set to finish out the stanza. The Oberlin offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.
SET 4 | Oberlin couldn't finish off a four-set win as the Tigers forced a fifth set with a 25-14 victory. The Yeowomen trailed by as many as 11 points as DePauw grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 and Oberlin wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up four times before the Tigers took over.
SET 5 | Oberlin led 6-2 in the early going but the Tigers rallied to tie it 7-7 before pulling away for the 15-9 victory and the match.
Oberlin will close out conference play on Tuesday night at Hiram College. The first serve is set for 7 p.m.
