Oberlin, Ohio- In their first competition of the season,
Walter Moak and
Sunniva Sheffield paced the way for the Oberlin College Cross Country teams at the Wooster Invitational on Thursday night.

In the 4K field of DII, DIII, and community college athletes, Oberlin's Sheffield finished at the top of the Yeowomen pack, 16
th overall with a time of 16:49.0.
Eliza Medearis followed closely behind as they finished 17:01.7 inside the top 20. First-year
Ella Wozek (17:52.6) finished third among her teammates before
Amber Borofsky (18:02.8) and
Camila Ciembroniewicz (18:22.8) rounded out the first-five.

On the men's 4M side, Moak (21:25.4) finished just four seconds shy of the top spot but first among DIII runners. Upperclassmen
Ross D'Orfani (22:40.8),
Johnny Ragsdale (23:00.6),
Danny Markey (23:12.5), and
Jerry Achtermann (23:15.2) finished in close succession before rookie
Liam Newman rounded out the top- 50 with a time of 23:18.9.

The Crimson and Gold take a short break before returning to the course on Saturday, September 17 as they travel up to New York for the Rochester Yellow Jacket Invitational.
