Virginia Beach, VA- Oberlin's women's lacrosse team earned their largest win of the season as they traveled on Wednesday night to take on Virginia Wesleyan. The 18-8 victory give the Yeowomen plenty of momentum as they head into the rest of conference will with a 4-6 record and 0-1 in the NCAC.

In the high-scoring affair,
Lauren Mills and
Emily Shimabukuro led the offense with four goals while Mills tabbed on an assist.
Bette Imhoff also rallied for the Yeowomen putting away three goals and a pair of assists as well. On the defense,
Maya Blevins scooped up a team-high five ground balls as
Logan McDermott-Mostowy got the start in cage and accounted for four saves.
Sophia Ferrantelli and
Frances Wilson also shared time in cage, adding in another five stops. Of note,
Ellie Jensen grabbed a game-high seven draw controls to lead Oberlin to victory in the statistical battle.

Less than one minute into the game, senior
Reilly Jackman got the Yeowomen on the board off an assist from Mills.
Audrey Koren added to the lead seconds later with a goal of her own. Virginia Wesleyan climbed back into the game, but Oberlin closed out the quarter with a three-goal run to secure the lead. Picking up where they left off, the Crimson and Gold scored four unanswered goals in the quarter while simultaneously shutting out the Marlins.

A pair of goals from Mills kept the run alive into the third period but Virginia Wesleyan slowed the Yeowomen with a score at the 12:38 mark. Oberlin responded with four more goals before the end of the period, highlighted by a pair of goals off the sticks of both Koren and Shimabukuro. The Marlins opened the final quarter with a goal, but Oberlin had already run off with the game and responded with a pair of insurance goals to secure the 18-8 victory.

Oberlin will finish out the remainder of their schedule with NCAC competition starting with Allegheny on Wednesday, April 13. The away game will start at 6pm matchup will have a live stream will be available
