Oberlin, OH- The Oberlin softball team snapped their losing skid in their Sunday doubleheader against Denison. After losing the first game 10-4, the Yeowomen bounced back for an 11-6 victory. With the split day, Oberlin moves to 7-15-1 overall and earn a 1-5 record in the NCAC.

Katie Austin earned the pitching start for Oberlin and held down the circle for six full innings before relief came.
Alaina Di Dio wrapped up the final inning for the Yeomen as the two combined for 123 pitches and a trio of strikeouts.

The Big Red moved quickly in the opening innings of the first game, putting up four runs in the second with three coming off a 3RBI homer.
Kathryn Beeman responded with a single to bring
Haley Bartsch home. The two teams stalled over the next couple innings before Denison caught fire and tallied another six runs in the sixth. The Crimson and Gold rallied in the final inning for another four runs but ultimately fell to the Big Red 10-4.

Di Dio got the start on the mound in game two and pitched a fantastic four innings until the Big Red got the best of her, hitting a grand slam and home run to cut the lead to two.
Calliope Lissak came in for just an inning of relief before the Yeomen brought in
Liz Laudicina for the closer.

The Yeowomen were firing on all cylinders in the beginning innings of the game, starting with a 3-run homerun off the bat of
Loren Carter. The scoring continued as Di Dio and
Haley Bartsch came around the bases to put Oberlin up 7-0.
Mia Brito capped the long run with a solo homerun to extend Oberlin's lead to eight. Almost, but not out, Denison put up back-to-back homers to cut into the Crimson and Gold lead and take away the chance of a run-rule loss. The Yeowomen held off the late comeback from the Big Red and tallied another three runs for a final score of 11-6.

Worthy of mention,
Cat Moruzzi had a huge day of batting recording seven hits on eight at bats. The senior righty also accounted for two runs in the second game.
The Yeowomen have a quick turnaround as they prepare for Ohio Wesleyan tomorrow, April 11 for an NCAC battle at home. First pitch is set for 3:30pm with the second game slated for 5:30pm.A live stream available
