Oberlin, OH- Oberlin's women's lacrosse team battled on Bailey Field in the rain on Wednesday night, as they played host to Mount Union. Although a back-and-forth game for the majority of the match, the Yeowomen lost 16-12. That marks the fifth straight loss for the Crimson and Gold and move them to 2-5 on the season.

The season leader in ground balls,
Bette Imhoff, kept pace during the game, scooping up five balls and bringing in another four draw controls. The senior captain put up a pair of goals and assisted on another two scores.
Audrey Koren earned a hat trick in the loss while
Emily Shimabukuro and
Reilly Jackman also added two goals in the game.
Logan McDermott-Mostowy backed the net for Oberlin through the entirety of the game, making a career-high 14 saves.

Mount Union started the game hot, putting away a trio of goals before Oberlin could even gain possession. The Yeowomen responded with a four-goal run to take the lead, led by
Ellie Jensen with a goal and an assist. The Raiders closed the period with another three goals to retake the 6-4 lead. A 5-0 run to start off the second quarter, gave Oberlin their largest lead of the game at 9-6. The Crimson and Gold capped the run with off a free position save from McDermott-Mostowy to transition downfield into a man-down goal by Imhoff.

Within minutes of the start of the second half, the Raiders tied the game at nine before Jensen found Jackman inside the eight for her second goal of the evening. The lowest-scoring quarter of the game, Mount Union closed the half of two goals to hold a one-point lead into the final quarter of action. Koren tied the game at the 13:56 mark, but the Raiders held off Oberlin's transition attempts and extended their lead by three. The Yeowomen were unable to make up the deficit and fell to the Raiders for a final score of 16-12.
