Danville, KY- Travelling south again for another match with a non-conference opponent, the Oberlin women's lacrosse team fell to Centre College in overtime. Although an eight-point afternoon for senior
Annie Payne, the 18-17 concession moves the Yeowomen to 2-2 on the season.

Payne guided the Crimson and Gold attack, assisting or scoring the first six goals for Oberlin before adding another pair of points before the games end. A valiant effort from a split goal,
Logan McDermott-Mostowy and
Sophia Ferrantelli tallied 15 saves in the loss.

The Colonels got the game going with the first goal buy Payne and
Emily Shimabukuro responded with back-to-back goals in 30 seconds. Payne tallied another pair of goals before the end of the first half. The domination by the California native continued with another goal to open the second quarter before the young duo of Shimabukuro and
Audrey Koren chipped in. To maintain the lead before the half,
Maya Blevins found
Reilly Jackman inside the eight for an 8-6 lead.

Coming out of the half,
Bette Imhoff got the Yeowomen going, capitalizing on a free position opportunity. The teams notched back-and-forth scores before Payne connected with Koren for a late-quarter goal. Imhoff started the fourth quarter just minutes before Payne tallied her fifth goal of the afternoon. Up 16-14, Centre stormed back to retake the lead with just :43 left in action. Ellie Jensen tied the game and sent the two teams into overtime.

Although holding the Colonels off until the final minute, Centre took advantage of a free position opportunity to score the golden goal and claim 18-17 victory over the Yeowomen.
