Hiram, OH – The Oberlin men's basketball team completed their season with an 82-67 loss to Hiram on Saturday afternoon. Senior
Wolf Moser finished his career in high-scoring fashion with 25 points in the game.
Oberlin's
Dimitrije Radusinovic got off to a quick start in the first half, knocking down a 3-pointer to put the Yeomen on the board. Moser followed that up with a trey of his own to put Oberlin ahead 6-0. The Terriers battled back and quickly the Crimson and Gold found themselves behind. Henry Leiber put away back-to-back jumpers midway through the half to bring Oberlin within seven. Moser and Radusinovic added another pair of 3-pointer to their resumes to bring the score to 30-26. Looking to close the gap, Moser deposited his fourth triple of the day in the final minute as the half closed, Hiram up 37-29.
Moser opened the second half with another long-range strike to tie his career high of triple-hit in a game.
Darien Knowles and Radusinovic looked to keep closing the score gap, and after combining for a trio of buckets, the Yeomen found themselves down just one point.
Aidan Oliver tied the game at 39-39 with a free throw and a Moser jump shot gave Oberlin its first lead since the opening minutes of the game. The two teams swapped baskets before Hiram scored five points to lock in their lead. Hitting the midway point of the half, Hiram went of a 12-0 run, only slowed down by a Radusinovic jump shot. The Terriers dominated the final 10 minutes of action until Moser hit a record-breaking sixth long-range strike. Unable to comeback from the 14-point deficit,
Will Bousquette highlighted the final minutes of action, knocking down three of four free throws to bring the final score to 82-67.
Although a loss, Moser had a career day with 25 points and adding an assist and rebound. The senior guard went 6-of-15 from behind the arc, which breaks a pair of career records in 3-pointers attempted and made. Additionally, Moser sets new career marks for field goals made and attempted, going 9-of-21 from the floor.
The game is the final of the season for Oberlin who ended the year 6-18 overall anf 4-14 in the NCAC as they now look ahead to spring training and the 2022-23 season.
