Lansing, Michigan- After qualifying with a career-best time, second-year athlete
Walter Moak competed at the NCAA National Championships on Saturday afternoon.

In windy and below-freezing conditions, the Virginia native ran against nearly 300 competitors for the sole title of National Champion. Although his first time on the national stage, Moak ran exceptionally well, moving up in every split of the race to finish 254
th. With a time of 27:13.8, the sole runner of the NCAC finished in the top-100 among his fellow sophomore counterparts.

Finishing at the top of the pack and earning the crown was John Carroll's Alex Phillip, who ran a time of 24:37.6.

With the 2022 cross country season officially complete, Moak can now look ahead to preparations for the indoor track and field season.
