Oberlin, Ohio- On a rainy, cold night, the Oberlin College women's soccer team hosted Kenyon Tuesday night. The NCAC battled it out under the lights, but it would be the Owls getting the best of the Yeowomen in the match. The 1-0 loss sets the Yeowomen back to 7-5-1 (1-3-1) as they head into their final games of the season.
 
Benji earned the start in goal for the night match making a trio of saves throughout the game. The junior keeper stretched out early for an impressive save in the 27' as the Owls tallied their first true shot on cage. The Crimson and Gold backline continued the momentum off their keeper's save, holding Kenyon without a shot for the remainder of the half.
 
Scoreless after the first 45 minutes, Oberlin earned their best look of the night as the NCAC leading scorer, Heather Benway, moved upfield for a 1v1 with Owls' Leah Anderson. A low shot to the right corner turned into a save for Anderson, keeping Oberlin off the board. Minutes later, the Owls found the back of the net to take a one goal advantage over the Yeowomen. Looking for the equalizer, senior Camille Franklin took a sure shot on goal only to be blocked by Kenyon's defense. The Yeowomen continued to hound the Owls but unable to connect on any shots they ultimately fell 1-0.
 
The Yeowomen get back in action as they head out to their rivals of the West, the DePauw Tigers on Saturday, October 22. Oberlin kicks off at 12pm with a live stream available here and live stats here.
